First Congregational Church of Rochester

"For where two or three are gathered in my name, There I am in the midst of them."  (Matthew 18:20)

In a day when all Americans are taking a look at where we have been and where we are going, First Congregational Church of Rochester offers the perspective of looking at the past and the future. Today, our congregation is committed to communicating the gospel and continuing its vital ministry, as it has done for over 167 years.

First Congregational Church of Rochester welcomes all to its rich worship and fellowship. Our congregation is devoted to making its life and ministry a channel for the Grace of God in Jesus Christ to work in all people's lives.

What is Congregationalism?

Congregationalism supports a belief in a COVENANT RELATIONSHIP.   It does not ask that one accepts certain doctrines and dogmas, but rather that members join together to ask God what is wanted of us. Drawing upon the tradition of the Pilgrims who came to this land on the Mayflower, Congregationalists walk in a COVENANT RELATIONSHIP with a desire to worship and live with others as followers of Jesus Christ in faith, freedom and fellowship.

We welcome you to our website, and invite you to take a look at the many opportunities for ministry our Church can provide for you,  your family, and your friends.

"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself."  (Luke 10:27)
